National Carers Week 2018

Every year in the third week in October, people right around the country recognise and celebrate the valuable contribution unpaid carers make to our community and our nation.

National Carers Week 2018

About National Carers Week

There are some 2.8 million unpaid carers in Australia. In 2015, those carers put in 1.9 billion hours of unpaid care—a value of $60.3 billion if the government had to pay for it. That’s equivalent to 3.8% of Australia’s GDP and 60% of the health and social work industry.

We're asking everyone to get involved in National Carers Week by attending or hosting an event. This can be a morning or afternoon tea, an event or other activity to help rasie awareness about carers.

Help raise awareness this National Carers Week by rounding up employees, workmates, friends, and family for an event and draw attention to who carers are, what they do and how they  contribute to the community.

Organise a morning or afternoon tea, fundraiser or workshop to raise awareness of the diversity of carers and caring roles in the Northern Territory.
