Do you care for someone who's frail aged? We have support services available to you.
Many support options are available to NT carers
Would the person you care for like the opportunity to have respite overnight in a cottage-style venue?
‘Ankali House’ provides overnight accommodation and support where your loved one can be involved in meaningful activities based on their likes and interests: going to the movies, walking in the garden, some woodworking—the respite is designed to give the aged person a rich experience while you have a break.
Ankali House in Darwin’s northern suburbs is a comfortable, home-like environment, with three bedrooms, air conditioning and a garden with shady trees.
‘Wulagi House’ day centre provides an opportunity for an aged person to engage in meaningful activities.
Our experienced staff will guide and develop activities involving the client based on their interests and skills, such as cooking, opportunities to socialise, visit the shops, make things, developmental board games or spending time in the garden.
At Wulagi House, clients can participate in activities that help maintain and enhance their independence and current skills.
Day respite can be combined with overnight stays to give the carer a break for a few days.
Do you need an extended break for two or more weeks? We have respite beds in two aged care residential facilities in Darwin.
