Carers NT Media Release - Carers Voice lost in Concession review

Carers NT CEO Steve Vitone has raised concern that the needs of the Territory’s estimated 30,000 carers may be overlooked in the NT Government's review of its Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme.

Today Carers NT hosted a Consultation with Department of Families to hear Carer's concerns about the NTG Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme Review.  The event was attended by 60 people comprised mostly of Carers unlike previous forums which have been focussed on the needs of Pensioners and Seniors.

Carers NT is committed to encouraging carers to contribute to the consultation process to inform the Northern Territory Government and ensure that changes to the scheme result in it being fair and equitable, accessible, less susceptible to fraud and easy to administer.
