What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is about focussing your attention on the present. When you are mindful you observe your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Instead of life passing you by, it means living and fully experiencing the present moment.
What are the benefits of Mindfulness?
There is significant research outlining mindfulness as an effective treatment in stress reduction; pain management; improving memory; increasing focus; improved self care; enhanced coping strategies; improving mental health; reducing emotional reactivity, and relationship improvements.
Toni Ryan has tertiary qualifications in Social Work and Counselling, with 19 years practical experience in the field. Toni is currently employed by Carers NT as a Carer Counsellor. Toni has significant training and experience in practicing mindfulness.
Course Details: To be eligible you must be registered as a Carer with Carers NT
Session 1: Friday 9th June, 09.30 – 12noon
Session 2: Friday 16th June, 9.30 – 12noon
Venue: Carers NT, 59 Bayview Blvd, Bayview
How to register: Places are limited, so registration is essential by COB Friday 2nd June

A certificate will be issued on completion of this course. You must attend both sessions in full to complete this course and receive your certificate.
